24 Ways to Get Rid of Constipation Problem

Constipation can be easily treated at home with some useful and time-tested home remedies. This is mainly because of the closely link that exists between constipation and one’s diet. Making some changes in one’s dietary patterns can rectify the problem.
The constipation home remedy is as follows:
- Drinking warm milk before going to bed makes evacuation of the bowels easier.
- One liter of water should be consumed early in the morning followed by a stroll.
- Lemon juice mixed in warm water should be consumed thrice daily.
- A spoonful of aloe gel is an effective constipation home remedy too.
- Triphala powder is a time-tested Ayurveda medicine which helps relieve constipation.
- Eating at regular intervals is essential. One should eat only when there is a feeling of hunger. There should be a gap of at least four hours in-between two meals.
- Food should be chewed properly to make the upper digestive tract function normally. This prevents problems in the lower digestive tract.
- Spices such as turmeric, fennel, cumin coriander etc aid in digestion. They should be added to food preparations
- Sleeping patterns should be regulated and efforts should be made to go in to a deep slumber.
- Gas forming vegetables such as cauliflower, cabbage and broccoli should be avoided.
- Refined and processed food should be abstained from.
- One should drink 8-10 glasses of water daily. Water kept in a copper vessel and consumed in the morning is also beneficial.
- A teaspoon of ghee or clarified butter should be added to a glass of milk.
- Replace rice with wheat during constipation.
- Food that takes long to digest such as beans, legumes, mushrooms etc should be avoided.
- Apples are beneficial in curing constipation.
- A glass of lemon juice to which a pinch of salt has been added is a wonderful constipation home remedy.
- Grapes are beneficial in curing chronic constipation. They have laxative properties which makes them a good agent for cleansing the bowels. The best way to have them is to soak them at night and have them early in the morning
- Flax seeds have laxative properties too. One tablespoon of flax seeds can be soaked in water for a couple of hours. This mixture should be consumed at night.
- One can take a few seeds of sunflower, linseed, almonds and sesame and grind them into a fine powder. This powder can be sprinkled over salads or mixed with fruit juices.
- Oranges can cleanse the bowels and refresh a person.
- Raw spinach juice can cure chronic constipation. It prevents lots of digestive tract disorders.
- Figs can be soaked in water and eaten in the morning.
- Phyllium husk is a bulk laxative. One teaspoon of the husk can be soaked in water and consumed for curing constipation.
